Vic Adams
Newly hired President & CEO Dr. Vic Adams has over 20 years of experience at Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College (SKCTC) in Workforce Education and Community & Economic Development. Dr. Adams has served in many positions while at SKCTC including Training & Development Coordinator, Associate Dean of Community & Economic Development, Dean of Community & Economic Development, and most recently, Vice President and Chief Workforce Officer. The Workforce Solutions Division he oversaw for many years is a multifaceted organization fully engaged in providing skilled workers to Southeast Kentucky, Northeast Tennessee, and Southwest Virginia. In addition, he currently serves as a member of the East Kentucky Workforce Investment Board (now WIOA) and as President of the Bell County Economic Development Foundation. Dr. Adams has been instrumental in implementing several workforce pathway training programs at Southeast such as Paths to Promise, Accelerating Opportunity, and the Kentucky Safety Training Institute.
In 1989, Dr. Adams earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky where he played as a varsity defensive lineman under the leadership of head football coach Jerry Claiborne. In 1998, he received an M.Ed. from Lincoln Memorial University, and in 2011, he earned his Ph.D. from Mississippi State University. He and Dee-Dee, his wife of 32 years, have two grown sons, Tyler and Hunter, and five grandchildren: Cam, 2; Archer, 3; Gatlin, 4; Case, 5; and Fisher Kaye, who was born in January. In his spare time, Vic enjoys hunting, fishing, college football, and working on his family farm.
